I am Angela Velez, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the greater Atlanta area, and I’d love to help you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. At this time, all sessions are conducted using HIPAA compliant telehealth formats for the states of Connecticut, Maryland, and Georgia.
I specialize in working with adults with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have completed extensive training in both CPT (trauma focused therapy for adults), TF-CBT (trauma focused for children and teens) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My focus of practice is helping adults process their concerns, learn to live life by addressing barriers head on and move through them instead of avoiding, so each person can live their best life and experience peace and joy.

Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. In my therapy sessions, I promote behavioral transformation by encouraging a positive outlook and adoption of new attitudes to trust your own resiliency. I walk with you on your journey of self discovery and support you while you work through barriers that are keeping you from being the best version of you.

At A Purpose Life Counseling, LLC, I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among individuals and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. Since beginning my journey as a counselor in 2005, I have provided therapeutic supports for children, families and individuals. From small scale circumstances, to traumatic experiences - my services are personalized to suit everyone’s needs.

I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling in 2005, and since that time, I have become a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. I am licensed as a Professional Counselor in Maryland, Tennessee, Connecticut, and the state of Georgia . My background includes serving children, individuals, and families through mostly community agency settings and programs by providing play therapy, trauma focused CBT, CPT, anger management groups, social skills groups, and individual and family therapy. I have extensive knowledge, training, and experience in OCD, anxiety, substance use issues, depression, and autism.
I am now offering my services through my own practice, A Purpose Life Counseling, LLC, allowing me the flexibility to support individuals when and where they need support the most. I offer tele-health services, using HIPAA compliant software (Zoom), that allows you the flexibility to have a therapy session without leaving your home.
